During the second half of 2019, the growth of goods exports from Latin America to Asia-Pacific decelerated sharply, achieving an expansion of their value of just 0.1%. With this, the variation in exports for the full year was only 2.3% (versus 15% in 2018).
Imports of goods from Asia-Pacific also decelerated markedly compared to 2018. Their growth in 2019 (1.8%) was lower than that of exports, although higher than that of purchases made from the United States, the European Union and the world as a whole.
